The Kehlsteinhaus in Bavaria, also called 'the Eagle's Nest'

The summit by the Kehlsteinhaus in Berchtesgaden (Bavaria) offers impressive vistas into the Alps of Salzburg and Tyrol. Thousands of visitors come every year - not for the view, though, but out of a historic interest. The Kehlsteinhaus (called "Eagle's Nest" by the allies) was a present of the Nazi party (NSDAP) to Adolf Hitler, who spent a lot of time here during the later stages of World War II. Today, you will find an exhibition in the Kehlsteinhaus, a cafeteria with horrendous prices and tons of American and British tourists.
